The 358 anti-climb fence is designed to provide a very high level of security that is almost impossible to climb, with the narrow apertures of the mesh preventing any intruder gaining a foothold, whilst retaining a good level of visibility and an aesthetically pleasing appearance. This system is used extensively by the Ministry of Defence around high security sites.

Top 12 Traps You Don’t Know About 358 Anti Climb Fence Panels (Especially No.7 Can Cost You Big)

Trap 1: Buying “358” Without Locking the Actual Aperture

If the mesh opening isn’t the classic tight pattern (3″ × 0.5″ / 12.7mm × 76.2mm), the fence may still look similar—but the anti-climb performance drops fast.

Trap 2: Confusing “Visibility” With “Weakness”

358 anti climb fence panels keep visibility while staying highly resistant to climbing and cutting. The trap is choosing a layout that looks open but gives tool leverage where it shouldn’t.

Trap 3: Ignoring Weld Performance Under Real Abuse

If welds aren’t strong enough, panels can fail at impact points and during handling. Weld strength is 75% of the minimum tensile strength of the wire (tensile range 540-690 N/m²).

Trap 4: Underspec Posts That Make the Whole Line Feel Unsafe

Even perfect panels feel weak when posts are too small or too thin for height and exposure. Post sizing must scale with fence height.

Trap 5: Clamp Bar Specs That Don’t Match Height

Clamp bar dimensions must match the panel height and the expected load. If clamp bars are undersized, panels can loosen, rattle, and shift.

Trap 6: The “Corner Hardware Count” Mistake

Middle or corner clamp quantity matters. Too few clamps creates movement that grows over time—especially on tall panels.

Trap 7: Coating Adhesion Failure (This Is the One That Can Cost You Big)

If the coating system is wrong, panels chip at clamp points, transport rub points, and stacking edges—then corrosion starts exactly where you can’t ignore it. An adhesion coating is applied to allow perfect adhesion with the polyester coating (min. 100 micron). Posts are polyester coated with a galvanized substrate in accordance with Euro norm 10147, and this performance is closely tied to the base steel quality—many fence systems use structural grades such as Q235 steel to balance strength, weldability, and coating stability.

Trap 8: Forgetting Anti-Burrow When the Site Needs It

Extra length panels can be supplied for burying 300mm below ground to prevent burrowing. If your risk profile includes digging, skipping this becomes an expensive “redo later.”

Trap 9: Ordering Curves Too Late

Curves are on request. If you need 3D/curved panels for strength or appearance, forgetting them early delays delivery and forces compromises.

Trap 10: Mixing Post Types Without a System Plan

Square post, round post, and C post options exist—but mixing them without standardization complicates installation, spares, and long-run alignment.

Trap 11: Treating Accessories as an Afterthought

Clips, nuts, and screws control how tight the fence feels. Poor accessory packing or missing sets quickly becomes on-site delays.

Trap 12: Underestimating Packing Damage

Damage often starts before the panels ever reach site. If packing is weak, corners bend, coating scars appear, and the “security fence” arrives looking already tired.

POLYMETA 358 anti climb fence panels Description

POLYMETAL 358 anti climb fence panels combine anti climb and anti cut performance with excellent through visibility and resistance to vandalism. The narrow mesh apertures prevent footholds while maintaining a clean, professional appearance for high-security boundaries. Panel, post, and clamp-bar specifications are built as a complete system so installers can achieve straight runs, consistent fixing pressure, and stable long-term alignment. For high-risk locations, extra length can be supplied to bury 300mm below ground to prevent burrowing, and coating systems are engineered to improve adhesion and reduce early corrosion at contact points.

Pachage and shipping 358 anti climb fence panels

Panels are packed with a protective plastic film at the bottom to prevent damage, reinforced with four metal corner guards to keep the bundle strong and uniform, and secured with a wooden plate on top of the pallet to protect the panels beneath; the pallet base uses 40×80mm tubes positioned vertically at the bottom for added stability. Fence posts are shipped with plastic caps on the ends, then wrapped in plastic film and fixed onto a metal pallet. Accessories such as stainless steel nuts and screws are supplied with clips, packed as 5 clip sets per plastic bag, with 12 bags packed into one carton box for easy counting and handling on site—packing practices commonly used across related perimeter products such as China tubular steel security fence orders where panels, posts, and hardware must arrive installation-ready.
