Stainless steel aviary mesh (ferrule-pressed or hand-woven/knotted) protects delicate feathers, preserves natural behavior, and provides open, light-filled habitats. The mesh’s smooth, snag-free surface, high tensile capacity, and long service life make it the preferred enclosure material for zoos, sanctuaries, bird gardens, and private collections.

Structure & Formability Stainless Steel Aviary Mesh

The stainless steel rope mesh uses a unique hand-woven interlocking technique with standard 7×7 and 7×19 cables, creating diamond openings from 1″ through 4″. Panels can be tensioned into three-dimensional forms—funnel-like, cylindrical, or spherical—supporting immersive, species-appropriate habitats.

  • Framing & tension Use perimeter cables/frames with calibrated tensioners; avoid over-tensioning to keep diamond geometry uniform.
  • Interfaces Detail at doors, keeper access, and service penetrations with reinforced edges or clamp plates.
  • Environmental loads Verify snow, wind, and impact loads; select 316/316L for coastal or high-pollution sites.
  • Maintenance Rinse periodically; inspect anchors, swages, and turnbuckles annually; re-tension as needed.
