Tecco mesh is a high tensile strength steel wire mesh system designed for active slope stabilization and rockfall protection. It belongs to the family of high-strength steel wire grids and is installed tightly against the slope surface using anchors, spike plates and boundary ropes to reinforce unstable rock or soil.
High steel wire grids generally use high-strength steel wire of 2.0 mm, 3.0 mm, 4.0 mm or can be customized as required. The system is generally composed of high-strength steel wire grids, steel anchors, anchor plates and support ropes for slope protection.
High strength steel wire mesh systems are generally suitable for reinforcement and protection of soil or rock slopes with potential geological disasters such as slipping, collapse, shallow movement, weathering and rockfall.

Tecco Mesh Slope Stabilization System
The Tecco slope stabilization system is an important active protection type in rockfall barrier projects. This system mainly consists of tecco mesh, wire rope anchors, spike plates, boundary ropes, sewing ropes and specialized clips. The tecco meshes are fastened tightly to the slope by wire rope anchors and spike plates through prestressed tension. Then the boundary rope, sewing rope and clips reinforce the tecco mesh to make the facing solid and firm. When landslides or debris flows occur, large stones or debris are blocked by the tecco mesh and the impact on the ground is greatly reduced.
Complete Tecco Mesh System Components
- Tecco mesh. Main part of the tecco slope stabilization system. It is made of high tensile steel wire and has excellent corrosion resistance performance. The 1770 N/mm² tensile strength supplies maximum protection for the slope and people.
- Steel anchor. The steel anchor is made of deformed steel bar with 25 mm diameter. It is mainly used to fix the tecco mesh onto the rock or soil slopes and supply overall stability to the slope and tecco mesh.
- Claw type spike plate. The claw type spike plate is commonly used with nails to fasten the tecco mesh onto the slope firmly. The claw design makes the spike plate a more stable and firm structure.
- Soil or rock nails. Used with claw type spike plates to fix the tecco mesh onto the mountain. High tensile strength and solid structure provide long service life and good performance.
- Clips. The clips are used to connect neighboring tecco mesh panels firmly. They are an alternative to sewing rope and the connection is commonly made without overlap.
- Sewing rope. Used for connecting neighboring tecco meshes with overlaps. It can be used instead of clips where required.
- Boundary rope. Passes through the tecco mesh and is then fixed onto the anchors to improve tecco mesh and system stability.

Performance and Quality of Tecco Mesh
Tecco mesh is used to stabilize slopes with its high tensile strength steel wire that comes in 3.0 mm, 4.0 mm or 2.0 mm options with a tensile strength of ≥ 1,770 N/mm². The surface of the tecco mesh is specially treated with a Zn/Al alloy coating, heavy zinc coating, or stainless-steel wire is directly used. A special knotting process is applied to ensure that the connections between the links are secure. Quality inspectors check the raw materials and overall specifications of the mesh. To ensure the tensile strength of 1 m of mesh is no less than 150 kN/m, all production processes are carried out with care to ensure high impact resistance, corrosion resistance and a long service life.

Tecco Mesh System – Main Components
The TECCO mesh system consists of four main components that are carefully coordinated with each other:
TECCO Mesh. TECCO mesh is made of high-tensile steel wire with an ultimate tensile strength of 1770 N/mm².
TECCO Spike Plates. Rigid spike plates reinforced with ribbing ensure optimal load transmission from soil or rock anchors to the TECCO mesh. These plates are placed over the anchor heads and tightened to pre-tension the mesh onto the slope. The plates are galvanized and have dimensions of 13.0″ × 7.5″ × 0.3″/0.4″ (330 mm × 190 mm × 8/10 mm), 13.0″ × 7.08″ × 0.3″/0.4″ (330 mm × 180 mm × 8/10 mm), 13.0″ × 7.5″ × 0.3″/0.4″ (330 mm × 205 mm × 8/10 mm), etc.
TECCO Connection Clips T2 / T3. High-strength steel wire connection clips enable mesh sections to be joined without overlapping and still guarantee 100% force transfer. These clips are hot-dip galvanized and consist of 0.16″ (4 mm) or 0.25″ (6 mm) thick steel spirals.
Soil or Rock Nails (Steel Anchor). Adapted to local soil and rock static requirements, the TECCO mesh can be anchored with commercial soil or rock nails. The main anchors of the system are installed in a grid typically from 6.6 to 13.1 ft (2.0 to 4.0 m) horizontal and vertical spacing, depending on site analysis and modeling. Anchors consist of commercially available steel bars ranging from 1.0 to 1.25 in (25 to 32 mm). Self-drilling grout injection anchors are also permitted. Additional anchors may also be used to provide added support at boundaries, low points and hollows.
Applications of Tecco Mesh
- The tecco slope stabilization system is suitable for soil-textured and similar slope surfaces. It can stabilize the slope and replace traditional mortar slag stone structures. It is also environmental friendly and supports plant growth.
- It can be used on strongly weathered rock slopes and for bank strengthening.
- It can be used to control water and soil loss and to support external-soil spray seeding.
With its high tensile strength, durable corrosion protection and efficient system components, tecco mesh, often used together with steel ring nets, provides a reliable and long-lasting solution for active slope stabilization and rockfall protection in highways, railways, mining, hydropower and other infrastructure projects.
