Woven Titanium Mesh is a high-performance wire cloth produced from commercially pure titanium (e.g., TA1/GR1, TA2/GR2; UNS R50250 for GR1) and selected titanium alloys. When exposed to corrosive media, titanium forms a dense, self-healing oxide film that protects the mesh, delivering exceptional durability in seawater, chlorides, oxidising acids and industrial process streams. With low density, high specific strength, non-toxicity and non-magnetism, Woven Titanium Mesh is an ideal upgrade over nickel-free stainless steel and aluminum meshes for long-life filtration, screening and electrochemical applications.

Applications

Woven Titanium Mesh performs reliably across demanding sectors:

  • Filtration & separation: chemical filters, oil filters, mechanical strainers, fine particle screening.

  • Marine & desalination: seawater intake screens, brine filtration, anti-fouling guards.

  • Electrochemistry: electroplating racks, electrolyser anodes/cathodes, battery current collectors.

  • Process industries: chemical, petroleum and environmental systems needing corrosion-resistant, high-temperature media.

  • Aerospace, shipbuilding & defense: lightweight, strong screens and EMI/RF shielding.

  • Medical & pharma: biocompatible screening media and reconstruction uses (e.g., skull repair), following applicable medical standards.

Benefits

Choosing Woven Titanium Mesh offers clear advantages:

  • Outstanding corrosion resistance in seawater, wet chlorine, chlorite/hypochlorite solutions, nitric/chromic acids, metal chlorides and organic salts.

  • Low density with high tensile strength for rigid but lightweight assemblies.

  • High-temperature capability and good thermal properties for hot gas/liquid service.

  • Acid and alkali resistance, non-toxic, non-magnetic—ideal near sensitive instrumentation or in bioprocess settings.

  • Stable aperture geometry and long service life, reducing maintenance downtime.

Standard (How to Specify Woven Titanium Mesh)

When ordering Woven Titanium Mesh, include:

  • Material grade: TA1 / GR1 (UNS R50250), TA2 / GR2 (UNS R50400), others on request.

  • Weave type: Plain or Twill (TW) for finer, stronger filtration.

  • Mesh count: typically 2–100 mesh standard; finer twill options up to 150 mesh.

  • Wire diameter: 0.05 mm – 2.375 mm (custom on request).

  • Opening/aperture and percent open area (per your separation target).

  • Surface/Color: Black (as-woven/oxide) or Bright (cleaned/pickled).

  • Dimensions & tolerances: roll width/length, flatness, squareness, inspection notes.

(Common industry references include specifications for industrial woven wire cloth and titanium wire material standards.)

Weave Types

  • Plain Weave: over-one/under-one; excellent dimensional stability for general screening and filtration.

  • Twill Weave (TW): over-two/under-two; allows smaller openings with comparatively thicker wires for enhanced strength in fine filtration.

Packing

To preserve the integrity of Woven Titanium Mesh from mill to installation:

  • Rolls: wound on paper/PP cores, wrapped with moisture-proof paper or plastic film.

  • Plates/expanded mesh: interleaved to prevent scratching, then packed in plywood cases or palletised crates with strapping.

  • Labelling/traceability: grade, mesh, wire diameter, aperture, lot/heat number and purchase order; barcode/custom labels on request.

Conclusion

Woven Titanium Mesh combines corrosion resistance, strength-to-weight efficiency and biocompatibility to deliver long-lasting performance in filtration, marine, electrochemical and high-purity environments. Specify grade, mesh count, wire diameter, opening and weave to match your target separation and mechanical needs; choose expanded or perforated titanium mesh when you require extra rigidity or surface area. With proper packing and documentation, Woven Titanium Mesh arrives clean, flat and ready for critical service.
