Stainless Steel Filter discs are compact but powerful filtration elements designed for demanding industrial processes. Made from high-quality metal wire mesh in single or multi-layer constructions, they deliver accurate particle control, excellent mechanical strength and long service life in harsh operating conditions. Our Stainless Steel Filter discs can be produced as single-layer screens for coarse protection or
double-layer and three-layer structures for finer filtration and higher strength. According to the outside design, they can be manufactured in a wide range of shapes including round, square, kidney shape, oval and other special geometries to match your existing housings or special equipment.

Main Features of Stainless Steel Filter Discs

  • High strength and rigidity: Multi-layer spot-welded or sintered structures resist deformation under pressure and flow shock.
  • Accurate filtration: A broad choice of mesh counts and wire diameters gives precise control of opening size and filtration rating.
  • Excellent corrosion resistance: Stainless steel grades such as AISI 304 and 316 offer reliable performance in water, oil, gas, chemicals and high-humidity environments.
  • Reusable and easy to clean: Discs can be back-flushed, ultrasonically cleaned or chemically washed to restore flow and extend service life.
  • Flexible shapes and sizes: From miniature 5 mm discs to large 600 mm elements, with custom shapes available on request.

Materials

The filter media and support layers of our Stainless Steel Filter discs are available in several metallic
materials to suit different corrosive or mechanical conditions:

  • Stainless steel woven wire mesh & wire cloth – the most common choice, combining corrosion resistance with strength and stability.
  • Brass wire cloth – good for non-sparking environments and certain non-corrosive liquids or gases.
  • Phosphor bronze wire cloth – excellent fatigue resistance and good electrical conductivity, ideal for some specialised filtration or screening duties.
  • Mild steel wire mesh – cost-effective option for non-corrosive, low-risk applications.

For most demanding industrial applications, grades AISI 304 and AISI 316 stainless steel are recommended
thanks to their superior resistance to rust, acids and chlorides.

Shapes, Layers and Disc Diameter

To match different filter housings and installation conditions, Stainless Steel Filter discs are available in:

  • Shapes: round, square, rectangular, kidney shape, oval and many other custom designs.
  • Layer structures: single layer, double layers or three layers. Multi-layer designs can combine
a fine filtration mesh with one or two coarse support meshes, giving both high capture efficiency and
    strength.
  • Disc Diameter Range: from 5 mm up to 600 mm, with special sizes produced according to customer drawings or samples.

Typical Applications

Thanks to their robust metallic construction and flexible design, Stainless Steel Filter discs are widely used
in the following processes:

  • Petroleum & petrochemical: protection of pumps, valves and meters; removal of solid particles and liquid droplets from fuels and process streams.
  • Chemical industry: absorption, evaporation and filtration stages where the discs remove catalyst fines, solid impurities and liquid foam.
  • Pharmaceutical & medicine: gas and liquid filtration in reactors, dryers and process pipelines, where clean and stable filtration is critical.
  • Metallurgy & machinery: hydraulic oil filtration, cooling water filtration and protection of precision components.
  • Shipbuilding & marine: fuel oil, lubricating oil and cooling water filters in ship engines and auxiliary systems.
  • Automobiles, trucks & heavy vehicles: used as air filters, oil strainers and fuel filters to remove dust, mist droplets and liquid foam.

In these applications, Stainless Steel Filter discs help delete mist drops, separate liquid foam, protect
downstream equipment and improve final product quality.
